You're Pregnant!: Here's What To Look Forward To

So you've just found out you're having a baby - congratulations! There's so much to look forward to when your baby comes, but why wait when there's a whole bunch of things to do now you're expecting. This is your time, so make the most of it - here's how.

 Discover your new self
Your body is changing, and although that's a beautiful thing, you may not see it that way every day. You're going to get bigger - that's just what happens, so it's all about accepting and embracing it! If that means getting a manicure and pedicure, and the one off makeup pampering session to feel better - so be it.

Document your memories
You can't take enough photos when you're going through your pregnancy. Ask your loved one to take regular photos at least once every two weeks to see how your belly is changing. It's lovely to be able to share these with your little one when they grow up. You can even make a scrapbook and write little messages to your baby for the future.

Go on a shopping spree
Come up with a list of all the things you'd like to buy, not for your baby or your house - for you. Maybe you want to invest in some cute, comfortable shoes, or something cool to sleep in at night. Whatever it is, it's okay to indulge once in awhile, so use some of that money that you've been working so hard for and enjoy it.

It’s baby shower time
This is one of the things every Mother-to-be looks forward to; a day that's centered around you, with free gifts, good food and all your loved ones together. It's a good idea to make a list of what you'd like as a gift, it sounds strange, but people prefer to do this as it avoids buying you the same present. If you need help, you can get some ideas from Makaboo. They have a whole range of things that will be perfect for you and your baby.

Make new Mommy friends
Why not join a prenatal class in your area? They're not just to teach you about what's to come - they are actually a fantastic way to meet other Moms-to-be, share stories with each other about your pregnancies, and possibly even make a genuine friend (and a future one for your baby too!)

Keep the romance alive

Just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you can't appreciate the presence of your partner. Don't forget to take time out and be together, even if it feels like everything's constantly on the move. This is very important after you've given birth too - this is why Grandparents exist. Take a night off and plan a date night together in your favorite restaurant. Have a drink and let your hair down a little, your baby is safe and loved, so stop worrying and enjoy the company you have. Put that attention onto your partner; you would be surprised at how much they might need it.
