4 House Cleaning Tips for a Busy Mother

9:19 AM

In today’s day and age, an average mother has to be a multitasker, who balances home life and work effortlessly. Everyone expects that the confident businesswoman transforms into a homemaker once she returns from the office. As all of you know, this is easier said than done.

Like most women today, you probably dread the hours on top of hours of dusting and scrubbing you have to endear every week. Hiring a cleaning company such as Helpling SG to help you with the chores probably sounds wonderful, but what can you do when that’s not an option?

Luckily for you, there are a few things you can do to make the cleaning process way easier, and less time-consuming…

1.      Make Spring Cleaning a Family Affair
When it comes time for spring cleaning, try to get every member of your family involved. Since so many mothers hardly find the time to hang around with their children, spring cleaning may be the perfect solution for this particular problem. This will not only allow you to spend more quality time with the children, but also teach them how to properly clean their rooms and help them form the right cleaning habits at an early age.

2.      Take Time to Devise a Careful Plan
Seeing how you have so many action-packed days every single month, it may be more than difficult to start cleaning your home on a random day. Therefore, you need to pull up your sleeves, sit down and make a cleaning schedule at least a month in advance. On the top of your priority list you need to put the rooms in your hose that are in a bad need of a scrubbing. And here’s an idea – don’t just take one day every week to clean your whole house – instead clean one room at a time.

3.      Don’t Forget to Have Some Fun
If you manage to start enjoying your cleaning sessions, eventually, they won’t feel like a burden anymore. Don’t get me wrong – cleaning is, indeed, hard work. But if you make a conscious effort to enjoy your errands, you won’t feel so warn-out after the cleaning is done. You should maybe take this time to empty your mind, and even relax a little. Take your earphones, load your favorite playlist while you mop the floors or dust the rooms.

4.      Be Aware You Can’t Do Everything
In the end, no matter how much you try, sometimes your efforts will fall short. If you’re having a bad week at the office, worrying too much about your home duties will only stress out completely. When these days come, you should just take a “week off” and forget about your duties. You can talk to your husband and see if he has the time to handle everything that week.

Remember – sometimes, there’s nothing wrong with letting go. Needless to say, we’re not saying you should take a break every other week – far from it. With a little bit of planning, you’ll be able to finish all of your chores seamlessly, with less effort than usual. But when the stress becomes too much, fall back and take a few days to reenergize.
