Signs that Stress is Affecting Your Body

If you work a stressful job then you will know how much of a toll this can take on your health. You may find that you get tired easier and you may even find that you just can’t cope with the amount of things that you have to do in the day as well. The main thing that a lot of people don’t know is that stress can have a direct effect on your body and this can cause you anxiety and some serious health problems.

Hives
If you are covered in red, itchy bumps then this could be the result of stress. This is especially the case if you have no allergies at all. It doesn’t matter how long you experience stress for, whether it is for a week or a month because your immune system will be lowered and your body will then start to release histamine to try and fight off any ailments. If the stress does not go away after the body does this, you can develop what would be an allergic reaction and this can result in some serious health issues. Your skin might even become irritated by things that you were never sensitive to before and this can again, cause things to get even worse. If you want to get around this then try and put a cold, damp towel on the area that is affected. If this doesn’t sort out the issue, consider contacting some Medicare doctors.

Your Weight Fluctuates
Stress triggers often release the hormone known as cortisol. This can impair your body’s ability to process blood sugar and it can also change the way that you are able to metabolise fat. This can lead to either weight gain or even weight loss. Stress can also cause you to engage in very bad habits and this is something that you will want to avoid. If you want to stop stress from affecting you too much then you need to try and snack on nuts. The source of protein will help you and the fibre will really fill you up if you are binge eating.

Headaches
If you have never knowingly suffered from headaches before but now your head is pounding then it may be that you are stressed. Stress releases chemicals that can cause a serious amount of changes to your blood vessels or even your nerves. This is especially the case if you suffer from migraines. If you don’t want to reach for the pain relief every single time then try and put some lavender oil on your temples as soon as you feel the headache starting.

Your Stomach is Off
If you constantly experience things such as stomach ache, a rumbling gut or even cramps then this could be stress related as well. You may find that you feel sick or that you struggle to really focus on anything. Stress can cause things like this to happen to your body, and if this is the case then you can try and have a ginger beer or ginger tonic to try and soothe your stomach.
