When you hear the word ‘oil,' you don’t think of something very healthy. We’re led to believe oils are bad for us and should be avoided. This is partially true as a lot of oil can be calorific. However, coconut oil is fairly low-calorie, and incredibly healthy too. In provides you with the good fats you get from other oils but has many other health benefits too. It can help improve your hair health and give you lovely locks, as well as being great for your skin too. So, having some in your cupboard will come in handy for many scenarios.

Honey is such a great thing to have in your kitchen. What’s great is that it never goes out of date and can sit in your cupboard for years. Plus, it can be used in so many different healthy recipes with chicken, pork; you name it. Not only that, but it can also help you get rid of acute pharyngitis - which is the medical term for a sore throat. Adding honey to hot water soothes your throat and is great when you’re feeling ill. As well as this, it’s handy for people with allergies too. Honey on toast is great for clearing up hayfever during the peak summer season.

Many people considered quinoa to be a posh vegan food with no taste at all. However, it can easily be flavored and is packed full of so many good things. It’s an excellent source of protein as well as being a brilliant source of fiber. Not only that but it’s chockablock full of vitamins and nutrients that make it even healthier and great for your body. You’ve got yourself a wonderful source of B vitamins, which are great for keeping hair and nails healthy and strong. Plus, it can be used in so many different ways, for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

There’s a reason garlic is present in so many cuisines all over the world, it’s highly considered to be the original superfood. Way before goji berries and other ‘trendy’ foods, garlic was used to fight off sickness and provide many health benefits for centuries.
