Divorce is difficult, and everyone deals with it in different ways. For some, their divorce is out of the blue, for others, it has been a long time coming. No matter what, you need to look after yourself and your finances when you are going through a divorce. Get to Grips with Your Finances
Unfortunately, divorce means money. Financial concerns in a divorce bring with it a lot of stress, so understanding what your finances are and what you will need to pay will help you to understand what your budget is currently. Keep Yourself Busy
One of the best ways to deal with stress is to distract your mind. This means trying the best you can to carry on with your life as normal. If you have children, they still need you in their life and are one of the best ways to keep yourself busy and distracted. When you don’t have children, you don’t have as much of a push to get up in the morning, therefore, find other distractions. Throw yourself into your work, join a class you have always wanted to try. Take this time to find yourself and do what makes you happy. However hard it is to keep going, get up in the morning and get on with your day. It will get easier.

Allow Time to Grieve
Although this may seem like the opposite of what has just been said, it’s incredibly important to not completely ignore your emotions either. Whilst they shouldn’t override every decision and you shouldn’t lock yourself away, you are allowed to grieve your relationship. Whether this means having a cry or talking to someone, find your way to grieve and move on.

Look After Your Body
A healthy body leads to a healthier mind. If you drop your exercise regime and start eating your feelings, overall this is going to leave you feeling worse. Not eating at all is also very bad for your body and although you may feel sick with emotions, it is important to look after yourself the best you can. This means eating regularly and healthily and exercising. Take this time to nurture your body and treat yourself to a massage or get your hair done. When dealing with stress it is good to do things just for you.

Enlist Support from Loved Ones
There is no shame in asking for help from loved ones when you are going through such an emotional time. If you need help with the kids, you can’t bring yourself to go through your partner's things or you just need a shoulder to cry on, talk to someone. If you are struggling emotionally, you can speak to a therapist too.

Dealing with the stress of divorce means enlisting the help of others and getting on with life as best you can. Whilst it may be hard now, the quicker you get back to your life, the easier it will be to heal.
