Understanding the Types of Hair Loss to Determine the Right Solution
Understanding
the two types of hair loss
Hair loss is common in both men and women. In fact, it is natural to lose 100 strands of hair in a day. However, anything in excess can cause hair loss, which can lead to visual thinning of the hair or even bald patches. However, it does not happen overnight. In fact, there are two major factors that affect hair loss: genes and triggers.Genetics is something that you cannot escape from. If your mother, grandmother, or any women in your immediate family suffered from thinning hair at a certain age, then you are most likely to go through the same path.
Triggers, however, are among the more common causes of hair fall and subsequent hair loss among women. Such triggers disrupt the natural growth cycle of the hair and in turn, causes fair loss. There are two types of triggers, external ones and internal ones. External triggers are usually in the form of force or trauma to the hair and scalp while internal triggers come in the form of medical conditions.
Common
hair loss triggers
1. Excessive styling
Women love to see their hair in its best form. Using chemicals in the form of medication to keep it straight and bouncy, or regularly dyeing your hair can damage it to a certain extent. Women who style their hair excessively without doing the necessary steps to restore their hair’s natural health can suffer from hair damage, which could result in hair loss.
2. Hormones
A woman’s hormones affect different parts of the body. Aside from being responsible for that persistent acne growth and your fluctuating weight, it can also be causing your hair loss.
3. Medical conditions
Alopecia is a medical condition that prevents the body from producing hair follicles, which promote hair growth. When you have alopecia, your immune system is preventing your body from allowing natural hair growth. People who have this condition also do not grow hair on other parts of their body (i.e. eyebrows, eyelashes, private areas).
