Lots of new mums are now turning to blogging. It’s a great hobby that will help you to keep all your friends and relatives up to date with all of the goings on in your new family. Not only that, though, but you could also earn a bit of extra cash from your blog as well!

But before you start earning some money from your website, you need to make sure it has everything that all good mummy blogs have. To help you get started, here are my essential tips that I think every mummy blogger needs!

Be Prepared To Share
One of the main things that you need to remember about your new blog is that it is just like a diary. And that means you should be prepared to share most things that are going on in your life. Obviously, you don’t need to overshare - after all, you are entitled to some privacy! But there are many benefits to sharing as much as possible. For instance, you will find it easier to build your readership. And the more readers you have, the more chance you have of companies wanting to pay you to advertise on your site!

Ace Your Photos
Once you have some great content on your blog, you need to make sure that it looks fab too! And the best way to do this is to add some excellent photos. You can choose some stock images that are free from copyright. But you won’t be able to beat using your own photos. Most new bloggers invest in a DSLR camera so that they will be able to take the best pics possible. If you aren’t too sure how to use your fancy new camera, it could be worth going on a photography workshop to improve your skills.

Use Social Media
Are you struggling to increase your blog’s audience and readership? There is one easy solution to that problem. Social media! Once you have set up your mummy blog, it is a good idea to create Twitter and Facebook profiles for it. Then, once you publish a blog post, you need to post it to your social media profiles. Remember to use hashtags so that each tweet and status is seen by as many people as possible. Once people start following you, they will, hopefully, start to share all your tweets and posts. Eventually, you will get lots of followers on instagram, facebook and other social media profiles along with readers!

Don’t Forget Your Family
It is very easy to get completely wrapped up in your blog once you get it all set up. And when you are in the middle of all this excitement, you might find that your family starts to feel left out. It is important that you spend plenty of time with them away from your blog. Once you have managed to successfully split up your blogging and family time, you will find it much easy to manage your time.

You will find starting your mummy blog such a rewarding experience. Good luck with it!
